Physician Coverage Opportunity for Hospitalist Medicine Service

About the Opportunity
The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a physician to provide coverage for the Hospitalist Medicine Service at the QEII. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care to approximately 45 patients with a level of care equivalent to long-term care, cohorted at the VG Hospital from June to September.
Responsibilities
The physician will be expected to see patients twice weekly and as needed, with hours of duty from 8am to 5pm. The expectation is that the physician will be at the bedside within 20 minutes if a patient experiences a clinical change. There is no overnight call obligation, and the physician will be expected to attend weekly interdisciplinary team rounds.
The ideal candidate will be able to commit to a weekly schedule, but the authority is open to half weeks or days.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is also required.
