McNeill Nakamoto Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Financial Planning Manager to join their team for a contract position in Downtown Vancouver. This fixed-term role will play a critical part in supporting Senior Management by leading the organization's budget process and delivering insightful financial reporting, modeling, and analysis.

The successful candidate will manage both financial and cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial guidelines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading corporate financial budgeting, planning, and analysis to support Executive Directors, Finance, and Chief Financial Officers.
  • Influencing financial decision-making and identifying priorities as a key thought leader on the finance team.
  • Facilitating meetings and preparing annual budget reports for the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with executive strategies.
  • Supporting Chief Financial Officers and Senior Vice Presidents with confidential financial modeling of Human Resource scenarios during quarterly financial planning and union collective bargaining.
  • Overseeing resource planning and support resource management to ensure consistent alignment to budget expectations.
  • Leading quarterly reporting, including variance analyses, communicating business unit results and insights to Senior Management and Committees.
  • Leads financial and cross-functional projects, utilizing best practices in project and change management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting or other relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience, and a professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a strong foundation in financial management and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional communication skills to deliver complex financial information to various stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and advancing innovation and process improvements.
  • Public sector experience is an asset.
  • Exceptional knowledge of financial management and accounting principles, budgeting and forecast preparation, variance and trend analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how finance works collaboratively with other corporate/shared service functions, including procurement, HR, and legal.
  • A results-driven approach to navigate complex business scenarios to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to deliver meaningful insights.
  • Efficient utilization of MS Office applications, SAP, and/or other ERP systems.
