Project Coordinator - Vancouver Office

Novacom Building Partners is a General Contractor based in Surrey, BC, with a strong focus on commercial construction. We're seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team, who will be responsible for assisting in the management of various projects. This role will primarily support a Senior Project Manager on large-scale Tenant Improvement projects with high-end design and detail.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting projects in Vancouver and contribute to the company's growth. The role is based out of our Surrey office, with flexible working arrangements and occasional travel to projects in Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of projects, including constructability reviews, submittal reviews, and on-site documentation.
  • Provide support to the Senior Project Manager, including managing trade partners and project aspects as needed.
  • Involved in monthly reconciliations of projects, detailed analysis of invoicing, site progress, and financial profitability.
  • Issue contracts to trade partners and manage project startup documentation.
  • Use Timberline and Microsoft software to manage labour, materials, and equipment, cost coding, submittals, schedules, meeting minutes, change orders, etc.
  • Manage trade partners and suppliers, and mitigate issues that may arise during a project.
  • Attend meetings with the Senior Project Manager, architects, consultants, and clients to manage project issues and maintain positive working relationships.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary technical education (BCIT) or similar in a construction or industry-related program - Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Industry experience - 5+ years.
