About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our Communications, Engagement and Marketing team, you will play a critical role in advancing relationships with our staff, physicians, and patients.

The successful candidate will collaborate with various groups throughout the organization to provide expert communications and engagement advice. This will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating communication and engagement activities that build and strengthen our response to issues, challenges, and opportunities.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A strong educational background in marketing, advertising, digital communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in the communications, marketing, or engagement sector.
  • Exceptional skills in preparing web, social media, and online engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in developing effective content and engaging audiences.
  • Strong analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support internal and external collaborative relationships.
  • Experience managing public relations issues and in reputation management.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to work within social media.
  • Ability to manage projects, delivering on budget and on time.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective communication and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to advance relationships with staff, physicians, and patients.
  • Providing expert communications and engagement advice to support organizational goals.
  • Managing public relations issues and reputation management.
  • Developing and maintaining social media presence.
  • Managing projects, delivering on budget and on time.
