Job Description:



The Business Support Services Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation of our organization. Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Support Services, this position is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing mail and courier services, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.



This position also involves maintaining adequate supplies and equipment, resolving requests related to assigned work areas, and providing high-quality customer service. Confidentiality is paramount, as sensitive information must be handled with discretion.



The successful candidate will have strong organizational and priority-setting skills, enabling them to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as this role requires collaboration with various departments and internal staff.



Required Skills and Qualifications:




  • High school diploma and post-secondary courses in office or business administration
  • Working-related experience in a comparable work environment, including front-of-office experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer


Education and Training:



The ideal candidate will possess some knowledge of mail and courier systems, basic accounting principles, and database systems. Strong proficiency in Windows OS and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required. Additionally, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.



Physical Demands:



The Business Support Services Assistant must be able to lift over 30 lbs and remain mobile throughout their shift. Adaptability and flexibility are necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
