Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Retail Technology Solutions to join our team at The North West Company. In this role, you will provide technical support services to our retail banners, ensuring the highest service standards are met. You will be responsible for system/server builds, in-store data communication diagnostics, data balancing/recovery activities, and managing remote support. Additionally, you will participate in various project activities, including Service Request fulfillment and major store upgrades/new store openings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rotating 24x7 Tier 2 on-call support to store chains to maintain peak operational performance at store level;
  • Provide day-to-day trouble ticket analysis and resolution;
  • Consult with Manager to determine and deliver solutions for unusual or undocumented problems;
  • Deliver preventative maintenance to store systems where necessary;
  • Action Service Requests to provision equipment and services;
  • On-site travel is required to address store system concerns (new store openings, disaster recovery, upgrades, etc.);
  • Participate in I.S. project initiatives related to store support/store operations;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience providing technical computer support;
  • Degree or diploma in a computer-related program, or equivalent experience, including technology-based certifications;
  • Direct experience supporting Point of Sale (POS) applications is needed;
  • Knowledge of the Storeline applications is a definite asset;
  • Knowledge of systems providing financial service offerings such as prepaid debit cards, account payments, cheque cashing, and ATM's is desirable;
  • Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory;
  • Experience administering Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (application deployment, patching, OS deployment, etc) is a definite asset;
  • Previous exposure to all phases and roles in the project life cycle, including experience as a project member;
  • Significant travel, including international, is a requirement of this position;
  • Must possess a valid passport with no border entry restrictions;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once.
