Health and Safety Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Mattamy Homes. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Collaborate with site managers, construction teams, and trade contractors to ensure safe working practices and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that all necessary safety documentation is completed and maintained, including incident reports and safety audits.
- Provide training and education to employees and contractors on Health and Safety procedures and protocols.
- Participate in incident investigations and contribute to the development of corrective actions.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years' experience in Health and Safety in construction and residential real estate.
- University degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- OHS Provincial Certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
