**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer in Training to join our team at the Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority. As an Electrical Engineer in Training, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical transmission and distribution facilities, power production buildings, and structures upgrades.
**Responsibilities:**
- Designing modifications and additions to existing equipment that require sizing of motors, cables, and accompanying instruments and controls.
- Analyzing operation of protective relays when activated upon a trip-out of generating unit to pinpoint source of problem.
- Preparing estimates, plans, and specifications for minor plant additions and modifications.
- Prepares special reports on the operation and maintenance of the power generating plant as deemed necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-4 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of mathematics required in complex electrical computations.
- Ability to prepare drawings and sketches of generating plants and distribution lines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
**Estimated Salary:** $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
