The Southbridge Care Homes organization is seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef and Dietary Services Director to lead the food services team at our long-term care home in Port Perry, Ontario.

This leadership role will oversee all aspects of food and dietary services, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and delivery to residents. The successful candidate will have experience managing employees in a unionized setting and possess strong leadership skills to direct the work of staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction and nutritional outcomes
  • Selecting, supervising, and motivating a team of dietary staff to achieve exceptional productivity and service standards
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for food preparation and storage, meeting Public Health requirements
  • Managing departmental budgets and food costs while participating in the budgeting process
  • Liaising with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to understand resident care needs and preferences

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in dietary management or a related field, along with current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dietary management in a long-term care setting, with strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach
