**Qualifications - Dietary Aid**

1. High School diploma or equivalent

2. Experience in preparing, shopping for, and cooking large quantities in an institutional setting.

3. Food Handler’s Training and Certificate

4. Current CPR/Basic First Aid Level C Training renewed every three years (asset)

5. Criminal reference checks are renewed every five years.

6. Current updated immunization

ROLE: To ensure that the requirements of the Canada Food Guide are being

met daily as well as to establish a rotation of menus offering varieties

of foods suitable for the Centre

**Kitchen Duties**
- Prepare menus in conjunction with the Director of Operations, Administrative Director, or Program Leader.
- Do food shopping as required; provide receipts and show disbursements.
- Plan food preparation: prepare and cook food to be frozen for future use and food to be served daily.
- Do baking and cooking of lunches and snacks. (keeping to menu with limited changes).
- Record inventory.
- Advise Director of Operations, Administrative Director, or Program Leader of any potential or existing problems regarding food, equipment, and small wares.
- Load cart and deliver food to each dining area.
- Carrying/lifting/moving moderately heavy items.
- Weekly trips to Food 4 All.
- Any changes to the menu must be noted on the menu in the child care hallway.

**Health and Safety Duties within the Kitchen**
- Clean equipment and kitchen daily.

**Duties within the centre**
- Answer the phone and take accurate messages.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Assist in walking children to/from school (if needed)
- Willingness to work in conditions with exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, frequent high noise levels, occasional inclement weather, high temperatures and physical harm.
- Participate in fire drills.
- Assist in playrooms as needed.
- Attend seminars/courses/workshops that pertain to food preparation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$23.50 per hour
