Job Summary

As a Test Technician at DRS Pivotal Power Inc, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our electronic equipment and systems. Reporting to the Test Manager, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing production electronic equipment and systems on site in our Bedford, NS office.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on moderately complex components, devices, materials, products, processes, and/or equipment.
  • Responsible for testing, modifying, reworking, and repairing electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Apply electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing procedures, and related knowledge to test and troubleshoot production electronic equipment.
  • Utilize test equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental tests on equipment to established criteria to determine acceptability. Perform test equipment prove out. Evaluate performance of equipment and compliance with procedures.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information.
  • Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis on products and document results. Complete repairs, maintenance, and calibrations to test equipment. Design fixtures and jigs.
  • Analyze, record, and interpret test data to determine product acceptability. Recommend changes in method or installation specifications to simplify tests or reduce test time.
Requirements
  • Possession of an Electronics Technician Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment.
  • Experience reading schematics and engineering specs.
  • Must have technical competency and good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test data.
  • Must have basic design capabilities and integration/troubleshooting skills.
