**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Principal to lead the strategic direction and operational execution of our benefits consulting services. This senior role demands a dynamic leader capable of overseeing multiple projects, mentoring team members, and driving business growth while maintaining strong client relationships and adhering to industry regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**
Strategic Leadership and Client Management:
- Guide teams in developing analysis, reports, and strategic recommendations for clients, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
- Oversee technical consulting projects for diverse clients, including large benefits plans in Canada, and develop unique solutions tailored to client needs.
Technical Expertise and Innovation:
- Provide strategic input to client teams around analysis and recommendations, focusing work product on supporting client decisions in plain language communication style.
- An actuarial background is an asset but not required; however, if the successful candidate is an actuary, they will oversee and sign valuation and disclosure statements.
Relationship Building and Advisory:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering insights and advice aligning with their strategic objectives.
- Travel as necessary to engage with clients and strengthen partnerships.
Team Development and Mentoring:
- Mentor and help develop the benefits team, supporting the creation of internal tools and models to enhance service delivery.
- Train and manage team members as needed, fostering a dynamic and learning-oriented team environment.
Business Development and Financial Management:
- Proactively grow the business, increase profits, and improve the firm's market position.
- Handle invoicing, financial management, and ensure the profitability of projects and client engagements.
Internal Collaboration and Process Improvement:
- Participate in internal initiatives to advance firm-wide goals, improve internal processes, and enhance service offerings.
- Ppeer review work product and consulting advice to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
**Qualifications and Attributes:**
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- FCIA or ACIA designation is a strong differentiator but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in benefits consulting at both analyst and consultant levels.
- Demonstrated ability in managing large benefit programs and proven track record in collaborative work with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Skills and Attributes:
- Technical and consulting proficiency, with expertise in one or more practice areas.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovative and analytical mindset, with a focus on developing unique solutions and adapting to market changes.

- Results-driven, with a focus on achieving results that promote business growth and client satisfaction.

**Compensation Package:** $175,000 - $275,000 annually, with a base salary and variable performance bonus.
