About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Support Specialist to join our team at Island Animal Hospital in Nanaimo, BC. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized and empathetic individual to provide top-notch support to our clients and their pets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for patients and pet owners
  • Manage phone calls and book appointments efficiently
  • Place follow-up calls to pet owners and schedule future appointments
  • Respond to email correspondence from clients, veterinarians, and internal office messages
  • Admit and discharge pet patients
  • Invoice and bill clients, create estimates, and process payments
  • Schedule appointments
  • Provide excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces
  • Leverage veterinary services knowledge and medical office procedures to assist the veterinary staff
