About the Position:
This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team at the BC SPCA, providing exceptional care to animals in need. As a Registered Veterinary Technologist, you will play a vital role in assisting veterinarians with anesthesia and surgery, maintaining hospital equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage patient care and treatments, coordinating with staff to ensure seamless care.
- Assist veterinarians with tasks such as administering medications, performing treatments, and collecting specimens.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Provide exceptional customer service, educating clients on care and treatment and creating discharge/home care instructions.
- Assist with humane euthanasia and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Registration with the BC Veterinary Technologists Association (BCVTA) or equivalent.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to multitask and complete tasks/projects within defined timelines.
- Ability to fulfill physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects and patients.
