Veterinary Technologist

About the Position:
This role provides critical support to our veterinarians by assisting with all aspects of anesthesia and surgery for privately owned and shelter animals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, career-minded, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with anesthesia and surgery procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery.
- Provide support with maintaining hospital equipment and ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Assist with morning check-in, pre-surgical and pre-vaccination examinations, and other hospital duties as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing education on patient care and treatment.
- Perform various tasks, including direct animal care, client communication, and housekeeping duties.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a veterinary technologist program accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medicine Association (CVMA) and registration with the BC Veterinary Technologists Association (BCVTA).
- Experience in delivering high-quality customer service and excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to fulfill physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods, walking, sitting, and lifting heavy objects and patients.
