At Intact Financial Corporation, we're seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in the Insurance Defence specialty lines. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for handling complex insurance litigation cases, including marine, long-haul trucking, entertainment, class action, director & officer, and errors & omissions claims.

About the Role

We're looking for a dynamic litigator with 5+ years of experience in insurance litigation, specifically in specialty lines. Your expertise in drafting pleadings, conducting discoveries, mediations, and trials will be invaluable to our team. You'll work closely with our clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to their complex insurance issues.

Your Skills

  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance litigation, specifically in specialty lines
  • Expertise in drafting pleadings, conducting discoveries, mediations, and trials
  • Superior organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple case files simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective client relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with research and negotiation experience
  • Analytical skills, ability to work independently, and solid communication skills
  • Set high standards, be an agent of change, adaptive, with a strong drive to outperform
