Job Summary:

The Dispensary Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring accurate and safe dispensing of prescriptions while providing pharmaceutical patient care to residents. This role requires collaboration with the pharmacy team to ensure timely and complete medication orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate and safe dispensing of prescriptions
  • Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures
  • Consult with pharmacy management team on unresolved issues
  • Provide exceptional customer care to CareRx pharmacy patients
  • Communicate with resident care team while maintaining professionalism
  • Maintain accurate and organized resident health records
  • Conduct medication regimen reviews and document recommendations
  • Follow provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory
  • Participate in training and support for new and existing pharmacy team members
  • Participate in ongoing continuing education to stay current in pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information

Requirements:

  • Current licensure in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A)
  • Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with healthcare team members
  • Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Kroll Windows application
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Skilled in critical thought processes and prioritization
  • Motivated to achieve results with a high standard of quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs
  • Previous long-term care pharmacy experience
