Job Summary:

The Dispensing Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and safe dispensing of medications to residents, while providing pharmaceutical patient care and ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately and safely
  • Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures
  • Consult with the pharmacy management team on unresolved issues
  • Provide exceptional customer care to CareRx pharmacy patients
  • Communicate with the resident care team while maintaining professionalism
  • Maintain accurate and organized resident health records
  • Conduct medication regimen/profile reviews and document recommendations
  • Follow provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory
  • Participate in training and support for new and existing pharmacy team members
  • Participate in ongoing continuing education to stay current in pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information

What We're Looking For:

  • Current licensure in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A)
  • Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with healthcare team members
  • Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
  • High level of fluency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Kroll Windows application
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs
  • Previous long-term care pharmacy experience
