Job Title: Crime Review Officer

Join the City of Kelowna as a Crime Review Officer and contribute to ensuring the integrity of police investigations. This role is responsible for providing quality assurance audits of police files, identifying accurate classification, and providing guidance and feedback to ensure file integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of police investigational files to ensure compliance with legal obligations and policy requirements.
  • Identify and address deficiencies in file classification and scoring, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics.
  • Collaborate with police personnel to provide guidance, feedback, and corrective direction to ensure file integrity.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to RCMP cadets and other stakeholders on quality assurance issues.
  • Assist in identifying training requirements and preparing lesson plans, handouts, and presentations.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), and Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance.
