Crime Review Specialist

Join the City of Kelowna's Community Safety team as a Crime Review Officer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of police investigations and providing quality assurance audits.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough reviews of police investigational files to ensure compliance with legal obligations and policy requirements.
- Identify and address deficiencies in file scoring and classification, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS).
- Provide guidance, feedback, and corrective direction to police personnel to ensure file integrity and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with the Kelowna Regional Detachment to develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Develop and deliver training programs to RCMP cadets and regular members on quality assurance issues and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with police personnel and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), and RCMP policies and procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance.
- A competitive salary range of $72,000 to $84,000.
