Position Overview:

The Process Optimization Engineer will evaluate operational workflows and pinpoint areas for enhancement across various functions, including aircraft maintenance, component repair, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and project management. You will spearhead and execute improvement strategies utilizing continuous improvement methodologies, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including IT. Your role will involve measuring outcomes, ensuring sustainability of improvements, communicating results, celebrating achievements, and disseminating lessons learned. You will also promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess current workflows, facilities, and systems for potential enhancements. Employ established lean, six sigma, and industrial engineering methodologies to evaluate existing processes and propose enhancements. Conduct analyses to identify opportunities, evaluate cost-benefit scenarios, and advocate for necessary changes. Assemble and guide teams through the transformation process. Oversee all activities related to the implementation of approved modifications. Provide project management for larger initiatives, including scheduling, planning, and risk assessment. Create documentation such as procedures, work instructions, and training materials to support process improvements. Deliver training to inform employees, customers, and other stakeholders about changes. Develop metrics to quantify the success of implemented enhancements. Prepare reports or presentations to document and communicate the outcomes of improvement initiatives. Establish management reporting, KPIs, and other tools to ensure the sustainability of improvements.

Qualifications:

Professional Industrial Engineer or equivalent with relevant experience. Training and experience in process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement. Strong skills in change management, analysis, and problem-solving. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proven history of successfully implementing change. Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with all levels of staff and management. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power BI, and SQL is preferred. Project Management training or experience is advantageous. Experience in facilitating or leading Kaizen events or similar improvement initiatives with diverse teams is preferred. Previous experience in aerospace, defense, union environments, ERP systems, and project portfolio management is a plus. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances as required. Successful applicants will meet the criteria for relevant international regulations. Applicants must be eligible for a Level II security clearance with the appropriate governmental department.
