Position Overview:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for evaluating operational workflows and pinpointing areas for enhancement across various domains, including aircraft maintenance, component repair, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and project management. This role involves the development and execution of improvement strategies utilizing continuous improvement methodologies, collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups, including IT. The engineer will measure progress, ensure sustainability of improvements, communicate outcomes, celebrate achievements, and disseminate lessons learned. A key aspect of this role is to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

What You Will Do:

Assess current processes, facilities, and systems for potential efficiency gains. Employ standard lean, six sigma, and industrial engineering methodologies to evaluate existing operations and propose enhancements. Conduct analyses to identify opportunities, evaluate cost-benefit scenarios, and advocate for necessary changes. Lead teams through the transformation process. Oversee all activities related to the implementation of approved changes. Provide project management support for larger initiatives, including scheduling, planning, and risk assessment. Create documentation such as procedures, work instructions, and training materials to facilitate process improvements. Deliver training to inform employees, customers, and other stakeholders about changes. Establish metrics to measure the success of implemented improvements. Prepare reports or presentations to document and share the results of improvement initiatives. Develop management reporting, KPIs, and other tools to support the sustainability of improvements.

What You Will Bring:

Professional background in Industrial Engineering or a related field with relevant experience. Training and expertise in process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement. Strong skills in change management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated success in implementing change initiatives. Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with employees and management at all levels. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power BI, and SQL is preferred. Project Management training or experience is advantageous. Experience in facilitating or leading Kaizen events or similar improvement activities with diverse teams is preferred. Prior experience in aerospace, defense, union environments, ERP systems, and project portfolio management is preferred. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances as required.
