Union Relations Specialist

Street Haven At The Crossroads is a dynamic women's multi-service agency that provides shelter, supportive housing, training supports, and addictions therapy to vulnerable women in Toronto.
The Labour Relations Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the labour relations function at Street Haven. This individual will act as a subject matter expert to guide Street Haven's management through all labour relations issues, including collective bargaining, interpretation and application of the collective agreement, and leading the grievance process.
This position requires strong analytical and communication skills to maintain relationships with Street Haven's management, managers, union representatives and stewards, and legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing grievance processes and resolution, presenting management positions during union and management meetings, and providing guidance on labour relations practices.
We are seeking a professional and passionate candidate to join our high-performing team at Street Haven. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Collective Agreement Compliance: Overseeing the consistent application and administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), ensuring alignment with legal and organizational requirements.
- Collective Bargaining Support: Acting as project coordinator to support the Executive Director in negotiations, ensuring outcomes align with organizational goals while fostering positive union relationships.
- Grievance Handling and HR Issues: Leading the grievance process from initiation through resolution, including documentation, analysis, and strategy development.
This role is based in downtown Toronto and requires working in-office. We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000-$71,000 per year, commensurate with experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for labour relations, we encourage you to apply.
This is a full-time role that operates under standard business hours (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with some evening or weekend requirements.
