About the Role

We are seeking a junior environmental technician to join our contaminated sites team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting site investigations, sampling, and remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site investigations, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling
  • Supervise environmental drilling, installation of observation wells, and excavation activities
  • Oversee site remediation activities, including ex situ and in situ treatment
  • Conduct groundwater, gas, and surveying activities
  • Ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
  • Supervise subcontractors on site
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols on site
  • Monitor and control material quantities and quality
  • Prepare daily reports
  • Prepare memos and notices for contractors to ensure compliance with contractual clauses
  • Take necessary measures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to the work
  • Prepare notes and drafts for the production of plans, such as constructed plans
  • Attend site meetings
Requirements
  • Diploma in a relevant field, such as environmental science, geology, or civil engineering
  • Junior to intermediate level experience (0-5 years) in environmental sampling and site supervision
  • Experience in geotechnics is considered an asset
  • Valid ASP Construction card
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in a consulting engineering firm is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
  • Availability for work outside the Greater Montreal area, although most sites are located in the Montreal metropolitan area
  • Availability for variable work hours, although most work takes place during regular working hours, Monday to Friday
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move loads up to 15 kg in installations and outdoors
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including remote or isolated areas, and in cases of bad weather (within safe and reasonable limits)
