Job Summary

BDO Canada LLP is seeking an experienced Office Technical Leader to join our team in Kitchener-Waterloo. As a key member of our assurance team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance on accounting and assurance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical assistance on assurance and accounting matters, including research and consultation services.
  • Review and prepare complex accounting and assurance consultations, and conduct financial statement reviews for clients.
  • Perform quality reviews of assurance files and support the implementation of firm-wide initiatives related to the accounting and assurance business line.
  • Assist with internal and external practice inspections, and provide training and guidance to partners and staff on accounting and assurance matters.
  • Participate in external committees and activities related to accounting and assurance standards.

Requirements

  • Currently a Manager/Senior Manager, or an equivalent role with a CPA-CA designation and a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in managing and reviewing files in a professional public accounting services firm.
  • Proficiency in Canadian assurance standards and strong knowledge of various Canadian financial reporting frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct meetings and facilitate sessions.
  • Experience in writing reports, including issue consultation memos, management letters, and publications.
  • Possess or be willing to develop excellent presentation skills for groups of varying sizes.
  • Strong adherence to professional development requirements, including meeting deadlines.
