Currency Exchange Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Currency Exchange Associate to join our team in Toronto, ON.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer support and facilitate wholesale foreign exchange services for financial institutions and corporations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Banknote Trades:
  • Book banknote trades for customers via phone, email or in person, including rates on all currencies, availability of currencies and denominations, and communication of pickups / delivery timeframes.
  • Quote rates to customers through updated rates using Company Software.
  • Verify currency / denomination availability before closing trade and contact customers as required to notify them of changes pertaining to their order.
  • Approve banknote trades / transfers and ensure tickets are given to the processing center in a timely manner.
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure high quality of service for all customers and handle trading related situations professionally that might occur.
  • Understand each unique customer relationship and reset client passwords, logins and/or forward clients to the relevant department as per their respective needs.
  • Edit and update customer information and monitor incoming inventory and non-inventory orders, processing such orders in a timely manner.
  • Shipping:
  • Understand couriers used to deliver packages to specific clients and restrictions for types of couriers.
  • Create and verify shipping labels on all orders and contact couriers to arrange pick ups and shipment eta's.
  • Collaborate with logistics providers to arrange and oversee shipments, ensuring compliance with customs and cross-border regulations for international orders.
  • Inventory:
  • Aid in the daily international cash operations, including processing banknote transactions and supporting the timely and accurate settlement of international cash transactions.
  • Assist in maintaining the daily inventory of banknotes, ensuring levels meet operational needs as defined in the SLA.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Holds or is obtaining a related degree.
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • Spanish-speaking preferred, ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking customers.
