Electrical Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team at Agilus Work Solutions. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for projects, including materials and labor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in completing estimate closings and preparing full-cost estimates for projects
  • Develop a strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Systems to properly quote projects
  • Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and post-bid meetings as required
  • Prepare and coordinate the preparation of full-cost estimates for conceptual, design-build, or general tender work
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists
  • Help with quantifying takeoffs and entering data into a computerized estimating system
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates
  • Participate in estimating turnover meetings with project teams to assist with planning and budgeting
  • Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors, and sub-trades and negotiate with them to obtain competitive prices
  • Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates
  • Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and formal process to support cost estimating
Requirements:
  • College certificate or diploma in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Electrician's license with experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience with Trimble/Accubid estimating software
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
Working Conditions:
  • Travel may be required
  • Onsite investigation
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations and meetings
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Overtime as required
