About the Role

As a key member of the Fraser Health team, you will perform techniques relating to Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) monitoring under general supervision. Your responsibilities will include scanning, analyzing and selecting portions of test strips; recording, summarizing and/or interpreting data for use by a physician. You may also assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation under the direction of a physician and under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing.
  • Scan and analyze ECG, stress and holter monitor test strips; select and assess portions of test strips and summarize for interpretation by medical staff.
  • Under supervision, assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.
  • Enter patient test information as per department protocols, into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
  • Maintain appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
  • Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
  • Provide orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items as required; complete requisitions for repair using established procedures.
  • Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
  • Provide input and assist with the development, implementation and update of department policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
