Cardiovascular Technologist Position at Fraser Health Authority

About the Role
The Cardiovascular Technologist is a vital member of our team, responsible for monitoring patients' ECG and hemodynamics during various invasive procedures. As part of our Cardiac Catheterization laboratory team, you will analyze data, convey it to cardiologists during procedures, and generate standard reports.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for procedures by applying electrodes and performing shave prep as necessary.
- Gather patient information and history from Meditech EMR, MUSE, and the provincial Cardiac Registry (HeartIS); enter orders in Meditech; prepare information for patient charts.
- Set up, calibrate, monitor, and analyze patients' ECG and hemodynamics during procedures; convey vital information and changes to physicians.
- Enter data and prepare reports with analysis of recorded hemodynamics, including ejection fraction, coronary disease, resistances, and valve gradients.
- Maintain records for the Provincial Cardiac registry (HeartIS) and prepare related paperwork for STEMI cases.
- Assist in pulling supplies for cases, setting up procedural trays using sterile technique, and prepping patients as required.
- Participate in defibrillating, external pacing, cardioversion, and CPR under the direction of physicians.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years' recent related experience or equivalent registration with the Canadian Association of Cardiology Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT) and/or CCI RCIS credential.

Earnings Estimate: The salary range for this position is approximately CAD $44.47 - $55.81 per hour based on national averages and industry standards, not reflecting company budget limitations.
