Radiological Technologist Interventional Angiography Specialist

Job Overview
Radiological Technologist, Interventional Angiography plays a pivotal role in Fraser Health's medical imaging team. This dynamic individual must be proficient in interventional and angiography procedures, adhering to the highest standards of practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. They will work closely with radiologists, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless workflow and efficient patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing interventional/angiography procedures and diagnostic radiographic examinations according to departmental policy and procedure.
- Receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, preparing examination trays and patients, following aseptic technique for specific procedures.
- Assisting radiologists during body and neuroangiography procedures and interventional cases such as percutaneous nephrolithotripsy and radiofrequency ablations.
- Monitoring patient during procedures, observing and responding to possible contrast media reactions or other emergent situations in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Facilitating the workflow of designated work area by checking information on requisitions meets departmental standards, regulating inpatient examination time, arranging departmental and/or facility porters.
- Maintaining designated work area by checking and cleaning equipment, setting up examination trays, using aseptic technique for specific procedures, receiving and stocking supplies in designated area, identifying depleted items and notifying Supervisor of purchases as required.
- Demonstrating procedures and usage of equipment to staff including medical residents, technologists, and students.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). A minimum of two years' recent, related experience in interventional radiography or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is also required. Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are necessary:
- Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for general radiology, angiography, and interventional procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, other healthcare staff, and external agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with others to plan and establish workload priorities.
- Demonstrated ability in Intravenous Therapy and CPR techniques.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Salary
We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
