Geriatric Psychiatrist

Island Health is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team in Comox Valley. As a key member of our Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, you will provide high-quality care to patients with psychiatric and cognitive challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient and outpatient services to patients with geriatric psychiatric needs.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide medico-legal expertise as required.
- Participate in education and training programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Collaborate with geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services.
Requirements:
- FRCPC Eligible (mandatory)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry
- Experience in inpatient, facility, and outreach services
- Skills in psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, ECT, and collaborative care
