Geriatric Psychiatrist Opportunity

The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at Island Health is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team in providing high-quality mental health services to older adults.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consulting services for outpatients, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and direct and indirect care to patients with psychiatric and/or cognitive challenges and indices of frailty.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide medico-legal expertise as required by the BC Mental Health and Adult Guardianship Acts.
  • Participate in the Comox Valley Hospital ECT roster and provide inpatient psychiatry and consult liaison services.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services to provide comprehensive care.
