Island Health is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team in Comox Valley & Campbell River. The successful candidate will provide clinical services to patients with psychiatric and/or cognitive challenges and indices of frailty.
Key Responsibilities:- Consulting status for outpatients
- Psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy
- Direct and indirect care
- Multidisciplinary team leadership
- Medico-legal expertise
The successful candidate will provide services in Inpatient Psychiatry and Consult Liaison, Outpatient Practice with Geriatric Specialty Services, Long Term Care Outreach, and Coverage as arranged with colleagues in Division.
Education and Training:The Division is strongly committed to undergraduate and postgraduate education. Clinical faculty appointments are available for all geriatric psychiatrists through a joint application to the University of Victoria Island Medical Program and University of BC Faculty of Medicine.
Benefits:May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including Recruitment Incentive, Relocation, Flat fee, Fee Premium, and CME.
