Job Title: Coordinator, Governors Council

About the Role:

The Shaw Festival Theatre is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator to support the Governors Council, a group of loyal and generous donors. As a key member of the Development team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional stewardship, cultivation, and service support to our Governors Council members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation of ongoing stewardship processes, gift management, and recognition systems to ensure timely and professional responses to donors.
  • Support the timely and accurate processing of donations, including contacting donors for additional information and preparing tax receipts.
  • Maintain and update donor records to ensure database integrity and file material documents.
  • Assist with record-keeping and tracking of stewardship activities, coordinating action items through calendar management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to Governors Council members, responding to their requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to coordinate events, including Open and On-stage Rehearsals, special performance presentations, receptions, and cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Support the Manager, Governors Council, with exceptional service and hospitality to donors at the Governors Council Lounge during Festival Theatre intermissions.

Requirements:

  • Previous related work experience in a high-performance fundraising environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Customer service centric approach to all donor interactions, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and donor database for tracking prospect activity.
  • Ability to work in teams or independently with minimal administrative support.
  • Event experience is an asset.
  • Smart Serve certification.
  • An appreciation for the arts and for theatre.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and experience promoting a respectful work environment.

Work Hours and Location: 35 hours/week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, additional hours as needed (evenings and weekends).
