Job Description
This role provides a comprehensive blend of ESG reporting and technical accounting expertise. As an ESG Reporting Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of our ESG data. You will also apply your technical accounting knowledge to interpret and apply accounting standards such as IFRS, US GAAP, and FRS 102.
Main Responsibilities
- Collection, preparation, and analysis of ESG data, focusing on the requirements of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the expectations of other global regulators (TCFD) and Financial Accounting Standard Setters,
- Prepare and publish ESG and climate risk reports and disclosures, adhering to established ESG standards and frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with ESG disclosure requirements in Financial Statements.
- Monitor ESG industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging policies/standards, providing insights and recommendations to the business.
- Prepare and report on ESG matters to the Sustainability Committee, Senior Management, and Boards.
- Develop and deliver training materials to increase internal capacity around ESG governance and controls.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to implement and adhere to the ESG strategy and roadmap of MUFG IS.
- Assist in the development and implementation of ESG policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely ESG reporting.
Requirements
- A professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Risk (ACA, ACCA, CPA), or similar.
- A certification in ESG or Sustainability (CFA, SASB, GRI) is beneficial but not mandatory
- Experience in an ESG reporting and technical accounting role, preferably Big 4, Financial Services or Asset Management sector
- Familiarity with ESG standards (TCFD, GRI, EU CSRD, PRI, SASB) and their application to our strategy and practices. Ability to prepare and review ESG reports.
- Understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, FRS 102, and Financial Statements preparation. Ability to research and interpret technical guidance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
