Job Title: Coastal/Marine Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Coastal/Marine Engineer to join our team at Baird & Associates. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing coastal and marine structures, as well as leading project management and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop coastal and marine structures, including seawalls, jetties, and breakwaters.
  • Lead project management, including client interaction, project budget and schedule control, and coordination of quality control procedures.
  • Support the administration and on-site observation of marine construction projects.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and interviews, attract new clients, and retain clients as necessary.
  • Work across our different offices and time zones.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Civil or Coastal Engineering or a closely related engineering category from an accredited University or College (M.S. preferred).
  • Professional Credentials: either a Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 7 years of coastal and marine engineering experience, in a consulting or contractor role.
  • Demonstrated experience in project design or construction experience involving coastal and marine structures, ecosystem restoration or navigation & dredging.
  • Flexible work style, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, meet challenging deadlines and client needs.
  • Working knowledge of design guidelines, codes and standards relative to coastal and marine engineering.
  • Ability to clearly document the basis of design and design development including, data analysis, assumptions, calculations, and conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively work with a team of coastal, marine and geotechnical engineers, coastal and ecological scientists, geomatics specialists, CAD drafters, and surveyors.
