Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technical Assistant to join our team at PortageRx Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist Pharmacists: Provide administrative support to our pharmacists, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling customer inquiries.
- Prepare Medications: Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Scheduling and Workflow: Assist with scheduling appointments and managing workflow to ensure efficient operation of the pharmacy.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring that we are always stocked and ready to meet customer needs.
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or related field.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, MS Office, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and physically demanding.
- Personal Suitability: Client focus, organized, team player, and ability to multitask.
- Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
- Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
