Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Technical Leader to join our Software-Design and Development team in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for leading discussions, debates, planning, development, testing, building, and maintaining scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead discussions, debates, planning, development, testing, building, and maintaining scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Work with Product Management and your development team to flesh out requirements, really understand not only the what but also the why through close collaboration.
- Design, develop, and deploy microservices-based applications that are loosely coupled, independent, and scalable.
- Leverage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes to build, deploy, and manage distributed applications in the cloud.
- Develop secure RESTful APIs for high performance.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated testing, building, and deployment of discrete micro-services.
- Implement monitoring and logging strategies using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or CloudWatch to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with your team and stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Coach junior developers, perform code and design reviews, and foster innovation within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and at least 10 years of experience in Java development, building production-grade software. Additionally, you should have 8+ years of cloud-native development experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and strong knowledge of polyglot persistence strategies. You should also be an expert in agile framework, best practices, and strategies, with a strong customer-first mindset and advocate for the customer.
