Estimator Manager for Infrastructure Projects

About Our Client
Our client, a leading general contractor based in Vancouver, BC, has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Estimator to join their infrastructure team.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide leadership and expertise to support business growth and challenge industry standards using quick thinking and relationship-building skills. The role involves developing the estimation team's opportunities within the field, leading the preconstruction process, and utilizing research skills to identify project-specific prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and trade-driven expertise to support business growth and challenge industry standards
- Develop the estimation team's opportunities within the estimation field
- Lead the overall preconstruction process, including bidding, cost estimates, budget analysis, and proposal support
- Utilize research skills to identify project-specific prices related to labour, equipment, and materials
- Audit technical specifications for bid documents with attention to detail
- Review project business plans with internal stakeholders to ensure profitability
- Assist with full quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy of contract specifications and pricing
- Maintain strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals
- Come up with innovative solutions and opportunities
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years' experience estimating in the Civil & Infrastructure construction industry
- Infrastructure project experience, including bridge and waste water treatment plant experience (an asset)
- University Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Strong computer skills with estimation software and an enthusiasm for innovation
- Western Canadian market experience
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as additional benefits and perks.
