Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team at the Women's Reproductive Health Critical Care Unit. As a member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will provide high-quality patient care to women and their families, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to the standards of practice for critical care management of the acutely and critically ill patients.
- Provide interventions and support to women with reproductive health concerns, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of patient and staff safety.
Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
- A minimum of 2 years recent experience in Critical Care Nursing with adult patients.
- Recent experience with in the last 2 years in reading and providing the necessary nursing interventions for the following: ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, airway management and mechanical ventilation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient care requirements and critical care standards for the assessment and management of the critically ill patient.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing care and disease process within the following populations groups: medical, obstetrical, gynecological and other sub-specialties.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing care planning, evidence of effective problem-solving and critical thinking in critical care management of critical care patients.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in high stress clinical situations.
