Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Instructor Pilot to join our team at CAE. As a Flight Instructor Pilot, you will be responsible for providing high-quality flight instruction to students, ensuring their safety and success in becoming operationally prepared military pilots.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional in-flight missions with Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) students/instructors, including pre and post mission briefs and evaluations.
  • Maintain flying proficiency, category, and currency in accordance with applicable orders and regulations.
  • Update FlightPro currencies and obligations as required.
  • Ensure assigned students are progressing in accordance with the Individual Training Plan (ITP).
  • Execute instructional sorties in accordance with RCAF instructional doctrine.
  • Be able to execute all missions in the CT156 Phase II, III, and/or FIS syllabi, including cross-country and/or out-and-back missions.
  • Advise the Flight Commander or Deputy Flight Commander of any student flying deficiencies.
  • Complete and release progress cards in accordance with 2 CFFTS Orders.
  • Assist the flight commander in monitoring instructor continuity of assigned students.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations/briefings on instructional topics.
  • Follow CAF Flight Safety program and protocols.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a qualified military pilot.
  • Successful completion of RCAF-furnished conversion and flight instructor training on the CT156.
  • Initial and/or regular assessments as required, administered and performed by appointed RCAF personnel.
  • Military pilot experience as follows: minimum of a two-year operational tour as a military pilot and have attained Aircraft Commander status; or AIMB qualification and two years of experience as a flight instructor, or equivalent qualification and experience as recognized by 2 Cdn Air Div.
  • All non-native English speakers must pass the TOEFL with the following results: Reading, advanced; Listening, advanced; Speaking, advanced; and Writing, advanced.
  • Military or professional flying experience within the last 10 years.
  • Maintain a TC category 1 medical and any additional medical exams as required by the RCAF.
  • Body weight and anthropometric measurements must be within the limits of the CT156.
Desired Qualifications/Experience
  • Previous CT156 NFTC QFI experience.
  • Commercial Pilot's License at a minimum.
  • Flight lead experience in a trainer or fighter aircraft.
  • Experience in military instruction.
  • Verbal French skills.
Security Clearance

Candidate must successfully pass a security evaluation per the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and to CAE being able to obtain all necessary re-transfer authorization in compliance with US ITAR regulations.
