Job Title: Health Information Management Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Information Management Clerk to join our team at Providence Health Care. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, recording, and processing physician referrals and re-referrals, determining outpatient appointment priority, and booking related appointments and special procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process physician referrals and re-referrals
  • Determine outpatient appointment priority
  • Book related appointments and special procedures
  • Request and receive supporting patient documentation
  • Enter related data into the computerized information system

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Two years' recent, related experience completing referrals or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment
