Job Summary:

Island Health is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team in the Cowichan Valley. As a Geriatric Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric services to patients aged 65 and older with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consulting services for outpatients, including psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and direct and indirect care.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide medico-legal expertise as required.
  • Collaborate with geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings and quarterly Division of Geriatric Psychiatry meetings.
