Radiology Technologist

Job Summary:
The Radiological Technologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative, to apply, and prescribe, ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all responsibilities defined for Medical Radiation Technologists
- Demonstrate excellent patient care techniques
- Work with students from affiliated radiologic schools as needed
- Maintain the continuing education requirements for CMRITO
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate from a recognized accredited school of Radiological Technology
- Registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario
Experience:
- Demonstrated clinical competency in all aspects of general radiography and minor special procedures
- CT imaging experience or willingness to be trained required
Competencies:
- Working knowledge of Safety Code 35
- Working knowledge of RHPA
- Working knowledge of standards of practice for related field
- Able to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
- Able to work independently and co-operatively as part of a team
- Recent satisfactory performance appraisal
- Recent satisfactory attendance record
- No recent disciplinary events
Requirements:
Unless otherwise stated applicants must have a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance.
Please note that as a Regional Health Centre, our operations run 24/7. Depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
