Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Queensway Carleton Hospital. As a Magnetic Resonance Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal structures, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and monitoring their safety during the procedure.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures, including imaging results and any complications that may arise.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest MRI technology and techniques, and participate in ongoing education and training to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Medical Radiation Technology with a specialty in Magnetic Resonance (MR).
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) as a MRT(MR).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Registered with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technologists (CAMRT) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent technical and patient care skills.
  • General knowledge regarding the operation of computers, automated and semi-automated instrumentation/equipment.
