Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor of Photography to teach a course on the nature of photography as an image-making process. The successful candidate will have a strong background in photography and contemporary art, as well as teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a course on the exploration of photography as an image-making process, emphasizing its multiple roles in contemporary art and culture.
  • Develop and deliver a curriculum that includes the acquisition of basic camera proficiency and the development of visual skills.
  • Assess student work and provide feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of the University of Ottawa's photography program.

Requirements

  • Master of Fine Arts or equivalent degree.
  • Established reputation and exhibition record in photography and contemporary art.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
