Job Description:
beBee Professionals is seeking an experienced Legal Operations Manager to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the legal department, including overseeing the legal team, managing legal projects, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Legal Department Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the legal department, ensuring efficient and effective management of legal projects and tasks.
- Lead Legal Team: Supervise and guide the legal team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of legal projects.
- Develop and Implement Legal Policies: Create and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor Legal Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest legal trends and developments, providing expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Provide Legal Advice: Offer expert legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, ensuring that business decisions are informed by legal considerations.
- Manage External Counsel: Oversee the engagement of external legal counsel, ensuring that legal services are procured efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare and Review Legal Documents: Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts and agreements, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Negotiate Contracts: Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of beBee Professionals, ensuring that the company's interests are protected.
- Manage Legal Budgets: Oversee the management of legal budgets, ensuring that legal expenses are controlled and managed effectively.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure that beBee Professionals complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to data protection and employment law.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partners.
- Provide Legal Training: Provide legal training and education to internal stakeholders, ensuring that they are aware of their legal obligations and responsibilities.
- Manage Legal Disputes: Manage legal disputes and litigation, ensuring that beBee Professionals' interests are protected.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a legal operations role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of legal processes and procedures, excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to think strategically and analytically, ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
