Department Head Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Department Head to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated professionals to deliver exceptional customer service and drive business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of customer service representatives and cashiers to provide a positive shopping experience for our customers
  • Manage the efficient operation of the cash office, including cash handling, deposits, and cash losses
  • Analyze reports to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to drive business growth
  • Ensure price integrity by managing price changes and scan log procedures
  • Perform store administration functions, including weekly accounting, invoice payment and reconciliation, and bank statements
  • Process payroll to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees
  • Maintain and manage benefit and pension administration
  • Manage potential loss through effective inventory management and loss prevention strategies
  • Coordinate cashier activities and provide input into the performance management process

Requirements:

  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to business needs
  • Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service
  • Strong technical knowledge of front-end operations
  • 1-3 years of progressive management experience, grocery retail preferred
  • Problem-solving skills, including responding to customer complaints and inquiries
  • Issue management skills, including time management, interpersonal skills, conflict management, and team building
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening
