Interprofessional Educator

Baycrest, a global leader in aging and brain health, seeks an Interprofessional Educator to develop, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate interprofessional training and education activities. Reporting to the Manager for Simulation and Virtual Learning, the successful candidate will provide expertise in interprofessional training and deliver innovative educational programs to teams, trainees, leaders, and care partners.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in a registered healthcare discipline, with experience in gerontology, long-term care, and/or aging care. They will possess advanced competencies in gerontological leading practices, knowledge of quality and related reporting requirements, and proficiency in educational technologies. Strong facilitation, coaching, debriefing, and presentation skills, as well as superior interprofessional, communication, and leadership skills, are essential.
The Interprofessional Educator will collaborate with interprofessional teams, trainees, leaders, and care partners to assess their current and future learning needs. They will deliver and coordinate in-person and virtual interprofessional education programs, integrating leading practices, research, and educational technologies into teaching. The successful candidate will promote quality of life for people living, working, and studying in aging care settings through person-centred or relationship-centred types of care approaches.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaboratively planning, co-developing, implementing, and evaluating educational products, projects, and programs that support and promote the goals of the Centre.
- Consulting and collaborating with interprofessional teams, trainees, leaders, and care partners to assess their current and future learning needs.
- Delivering and coordinating in-person and virtual interprofessional education programs with internal and external teams, trainees, leaders, and care partners.
- Integrating leading practices, research, and educational technologies into teaching to ensure interprofessional teams acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for sustained practice change.
- Promoting quality of life for people living, working, and studying in aging care settings through person-centred or relationship-centred types of care approaches.
- Providing implementation and coaching support to leaders and homes.
- Communicating with and tailoring messaging for diverse learners and stakeholders.
- Participating in ongoing research, evaluation, and innovation activities of the Centre.
- Ensuring practices and processes are in accordance with legislative, regulatory, and professional standards/requirements.
