About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Interprofessional Education Specialist to join our team at Baycrest.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with interprofessional teams to design, develop, and implement educational programs and projects that support the goals of the Centre.
  2. Consult with trainees, leaders, and care partners to assess their learning needs and develop tailored educational solutions.
  3. Deliver and coordinate in-person and virtual education programs, leveraging best practices and educational technologies.
  4. Integrate leading practices, research, and educational technologies into teaching to enhance interprofessional teams' knowledge and skills.
  5. Promote person-centered care approaches and quality of life for individuals in aging care settings.
  6. Provide implementation and coaching support to leaders and homes.
  7. Communicate effectively with diverse learners and stakeholders.
  8. Participate in research, evaluation, and innovation activities.
  9. Ensure practices and processes align with legislative, regulatory, and professional standards.
Qualifications

Required

  1. Graduate degree in a registered healthcare discipline.
  2. Three years of experience as an educator.
  3. Long-term care and/or aging care experience.
  4. Experience working with regulated and unregulated care providers, students, families, volunteers, and clinical leaders.

Assets

  1. Gerontology and Ontario CLRI Specialized Educator for LTC certificates.
  2. Project management experience.
  3. Advanced competencies in gerontological leading practices.
  4. Knowledge of quality and related reporting requirements.
  5. Excellent knowledge of curriculum or instructional design and program evaluation.
  6. Proficiency in educational technologies and Microsoft Office software.
  7. Strong facilitation, coaching, debriefing, and presentation skills.
  8. Superior interprofessional, communication, and leadership skills.
  9. Strong analytical, consensus-building, solution-finding, and innovation skills.
  10. Client- and partner-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities.
  11. Ability to work proactively with a range of roles, disciplines, and levels of staff.
